The Borrow Foundation and Colgate sponsor travel grants to attend the annual EADPH conference so our members have the opportunity to network with dental public health colleagues and foster exchange of information and advances in public health. We are very grateful for their support. Those applying for travel grants must be members of EADPH who have paid their membership fee for 2026.
Travel Grants from the Borrow Foundation
The Borrow Foundation and EADPH have recently reviewed the process for awarding travel grants. This year the Borrow Foundation has generously agreed to continue to fund travel grants. The Borrow Foundation has pledged 8,000 euros. They have also increased the amount of funding to reflect increases in inflation and travel costs in recent years.
Eligibility for a travel grant is based on definitions by the World Bank as countries with emerging economies i.e. those countries* with a GNP per capita, estimated by the Atlas method, with a threshold of less than $ US 19,000 in 2024 within the WHO European Region . These countries are: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro, The Republic of North Macedonia, The Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Those who are awarded travel grants are expected to attend the annual congress to present their abstracts in person. Travel grants will not be awarded to EADPH members who present their abstracts online.
The Borrow Foundation travel grants can be up to 1,000 euros and are designed to pay for registration fees and travel and up to three nights’ accommodation cost. The registration fee of all those who are awarded a travel grant will be deducted from the grant and paid directly to the congress organisers. The costs of travel and up to three nights’ accommodation must be reclaimed from the EADPH Treasurer after the EADPH member has presented their abstract. Tickets and invoices to support the claim must be given to the EADPH Treasurer. The Borrow Foundation travel grants will be awarded on the merit of the abstracts, which will be judged by the Congress Abstract Committee.
Travel Grants from Colgate
Up to 10 Colgate travel grants of 500 euros can be awarded to EADPH members who live or work in countries in the WHO European Region, listed above and present abstracts in person at the annual congress. This sum will cover the cost of registration and annual membership of EADPH of those who have not paid their EADPH membership fee for 2026. The balance will be paid to award winners at a special lunch for Colgate award winners on Friday, 25 September 2026, immediately before the abstract presentations that afternoon.
Travel Grants for EADPH Members from Non-European Countries
In April 2026, Haleon have agree to fund travel grants for EADPH members , who come from non-European countries with low or medium economies, as defined by the World Bank. The grants are for those, who present abstracts at this year’s EADPH congress, either in person in Timisoara or, for those who for various reasons can only attend the congress online. If you qualify for consideration for a travel grant, please submit your abstract before 15 May 2026.
Deadline for Applying for Travel Grants
All EADPH members from qualifying countries must submit their abstracts before 1st June 2026. If they are accepted, they will automatically be considered for a travel grant.
